The Settlement Association Quiz...Rules:

  • Repeating any of the previous two clues or names of settlements in a link is forbidden (you can of course quote a previous post)
  • Associations provided should be clearly dissimilar to each of the previous two associations.
  • Settlements may be anywhere in the United Kingdom.
  • A description of the association should be incorporated in each posting, without simply posting the name only.

For the sake of new contestants, the rules of this quiz are shown above, but I ask that the emboldened rule be particularly noted.

Ludlow also has a restaurant associated with fine gourmet foods.

No more Pacers please don't get put off posting your settlements. Paul kindly put up the relevant rule, which I fell foul of a couple of times when I started posting. You learn so much about our country by following and posting.

Droitwich Spa is also mentioned in the Mr Hilter and the Minehead by-election sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus

There aren't many famous people from Middlewich. However, John Hulse, a theologian born there, left a bequest in his will to St John's College, Cambridge.

Poole town centre is also easily accessible but not directly connected to the Castleman's Trailway.

In an episode of The Avengers (the TV series, not the superhero franchise), boots known as Professor Poole can be used to climb walls and scale ceilings. Another episode of The Avenger is filmed at Stapleford.
