According to some accounts, Robin Hood's activities actually took place in and around Pontefract, but today it is Nottingham which lays claim to him.

I am finding difficulty in establishing a connection between the last two postings of Stockport and Daresbury.

Can anyone assist, please.

Stockport was cited as being known for hat making. . Hat makers as I recall suffered as a result of their trade, (as I recall it was something to do with lead and the hat bands but I have not researched this) and became known as mad hatter's. Lewis Carroll wrote about the mad hatter's tea party. Carroll was the pen name of Dodgy on who was born in Daresbury.
Of course I could be wrong.
