Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield in Fort House in Broadstairs, and most of The Mystery of Edwin Drood is set in Rochester.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Broadstairs is also in the CT10 Postcode District.

Broadstairs was used a named settlement in a posting only two postings prior to your posting above.

The Settlement Association Quiz......Rules:
  • Repeating any of the previous three clues or names of settlements in a link is forbidden
  • Associations provided should be clearly dissimilar to each of the previous three associations.
  • Settlements may be anywhere in the United Kingdom.
  • A description of the association should be incorporated in each posting, without simply posting the name only.

Can I refer you to the emboldened rule 1 above of the rules of this quiz.

You are right. On my computer Kingsgate appeared as first item on a new page and I neglected to check the last post on the previous page.

Broadstairs #2 removed, and we are still at Kingsgate.

Cheers for choosing the place I live, Paul!

Hope in Derbyshire also has a limestone quarry.
