It is also the home of Triumph Motorcycles, which was founded in 1984 after the name and manufacturing rights had been bought from the Official Receiver. The original firm, Triumph Engineering, once had a manufacturing base in Meridan.

I think you mean Meriden but it all made me think of meridian and so my mind went to Greenwich

A predictable comparison really, but given Lowestoft is the easternmost settlement in the UK, then Skaw on the Shetland Island of Unst, is the most northerly.

OK - just disregard all that research and erudite learning as cjp has beaten me to it!

Canning Town also has a church [RC] with the dedication of All Saints' and St Margaret.
