And Morpeth is in Northumberland - no connection with the last one, but and a damned big but, it is nearer 100 miles north of York than matters and is on the Great North Road, as is Edinburgh. So finishing in York is not quite right.

I had meant to state the first set of stagecoach services using the Great North Road from London terminated at York but had only typed half my posting when I had to take a telephone call then just sent it on my return without completing the posting entry.
