D.H.Lawrence had a house in Wirksworth, although he was born in, and is more associated with Eastwood.

I've been to several residential conferences at the Hayes, Swanwick in my time, but had no idea it used to be a p.o.w. camp!

Malham also has a Tarn.

Down Ampney

The composer, Gustav Holst, was born in Cheltenham.
His friend, Ralph Vaughan Williams, was born at Down Ampney.
