Cerrig-y-drudion is another small settlement in the area administered by Conwy County Borough.

Cerrig-y-drudion is a fascinating small village. It used to have three nonconformist chapels. One has now closed, but two still remain active. One of these is the Congregational Moriah. This was the outcome of the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival, led mainly by Evan John Roberts. His burial-place has a memorial to his work. It's outside the Moriah chapel in Loughor.

Westerham was once home to a lady by the name of Alice Liddell, thought to be the inspiration for Alice in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This most famous of children's novels was written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, who was born near the Derbyshire village of Daresbury.

Chilton in Oxfordshire contains a synchroton (at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory) ..as was once the case with Daresbury in Cheshire (which also has a Lewis Carroll connection....see the previous answer for this)....Daresbury in Cheshire lost out to Chilton when the decision making about the site of the new national facility was being discussed.

I confess that scouring my large scale Derbyshire atlas still has not turned up a settlement of Daresbury in that particular county. but I will try again on Monday

Even my super-scale Atlas agrees with you on Daresbury being in the vicinity of the Halton Borough and not Derbyshire. That's the result of relying on Wiki Actually, that was me reading it wrongly!

One that doesn't rely on Wiki, which would also please a young man from Droitwich: Islip is also served by the A34.

Eyam in Derbyshire was also badly affected by the effects of the Black Death .....(this settlement has been noted in history for the methods that this settlement chose to use to contain the further outward spread of this terrible disease)

I always associate Chepstow with Fairfield Mabey the bridgebuilders, who had a couple of out-of-use industrial locos in the 1970s, so the associated settlement is Fairfield near Buxton in Derbyshire.
