Tobermory was like Duart Castle, as both being locations used in the 1971 film "Where eight bells toll", based on the adventure novel by Alistair MacLean.
Perry is another small village next to an ex-Borstal and also Grafham Water a large man-made reservoir.
Gairloch on the western coastal fringe of Ross and Cromerty, is also where the ancient rock formation known as Precambrian Lewisian Gneiss forms an underlying substrate, that coastal erosion has gradually revealed.
