Sir Henry Percy KG (1364 – 1403), commonly known as Sir Harry Hotspur, or simply Hotspur, was a late-medieval English nobleman who led successive rebellions against King Henry IV and was slain at the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403 at the height of his career. He was born at either Alnwick Castle or at Warkworth Castle in Warkworth, Northumberland.

The local football team is Redbridge FC, who play in the Essex Senior League Premier Division. One of their opponents during the current season were Sporting Bengal United FC, who play in Mile End in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Despite their names, neither Worth Abbey, an English Benedictine Monastery, nor Worth School are located in Worth Civil Parish. They are located in Turners Hill Village and Civil Parish.

Lindfield was once part of the thriving Wealden iron industry; as early as 1539, William Levett of Buxted, a county curate with a thriving sideline in iron and armaments, was recorded as extracting iron ore there.

Pevensey hosted Spike Milligan and other trainee soldiers during the Second World War, and is featured in Milligan's book Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall. He was born in India and died at Rye, East Sussex in 2002.
