Sir George Cunningham GCIE KCSI OBE was an administrator in British India who in his early years was a notable sportsperson, representing and later captaining the Scottish national team at rugby union. He was born in Broughty Ferry on 23rd March 1888 and died in West Byfleet, Surrey on 8th December 1963.

Daneshill School was founded in 1950 and moved to Dogmersfield Park from its previous home in Old Basing in 1973.
