Belfast was the home to Harland and Wolfe and was the birthplace of the Titanic. It is from Belfast that it started its ill fated short existence and it is Cobh (then known as Queentown) in County Cork where it last docked.

The Siege of Dumbarton took place in 870, where the British fortress at Dumbarton Rock was besieged by a Viking force from that had sailed from Dublin.
