Playden in East Sussex was also once administered by the Hundred of Goldspur.
It is indeed Writtle...my typing went astray...I don't find any place named "Wrettle" -- would the reference be to Writtle, just west of Chelmsford? Assuming that to be so: Writtle is of some note as the site of an early, and short-lived, radio broadcasting station (experimental -- early 1920s). Also noteworthy on that general scene, and from early-ish on -- inaugurated 1930, still active today in context of the BBC's chief long-wave broadcasting point -- is Droitwich, Worcestershire.
Nantwich in Cheshire East also has brine springs. Also noteworthy on that general scene, and from early-ish on -- inaugurated 1930, still active today in context of the BBC's chief long-wave broadcasting point -- is Droitwich, Worcestershire.
