Feltham (London Borough of Hounslow) also lies on the River Crane. (This name is a possible "back-formation" involving nearby Cranford, also on river's course -- the river named after the settlement, not vice versa -- or at least, the names' origins are reckoned to be "interwoven".)
RMS Mauretania, the second ship to carry the name, was dismantled at Thomas W Ward's yard in Inverkeithing in 1966. She was built at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead and launched in July 1938.
Repton's parish church is dedicated to St. Wystan (a Mercian prince murdered in 850 AD, later adjudged a saint and martyr -- some scholars are a bit sceptical about this one). The church of Wigston alias Wigston Magna -- Leicestershire (just south of Leicester): is dedicated to St. Wistan -- same chap, slightly different spelling.
Wiki sometimes comes out with weird items which raise more questions than they answer; as with this statement concerning features around Lubbesthorpe: "A rabbit warren here is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument". Eh? -- Paging Richard Adams in the afterlife -- he'd be able to make sense of that, if anyone could... Adams (1920 -- 2016) lived for the latter part of his life in Whitchurch, Hampshire.
Cheriton is the home of the Flower Pots Inn, locally well known for good beer and excellent food. Sunbury on Thames has a pub of almost the same name, but in the singular rather than plural.
A good deal of the filming of a recent serialised adaptation of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, was done at the church and rectory of Compton Pauncefoot. The Austen-with-a-difference film Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was largely shot at Old Basing, Hampshire -- just east of Basingstoke.
Tregony -- once, at least theoretically, a more prominent place (it was a Rotten Borough in the bad old days before the 1832 Reform Act) -- had a coat of arms which featured a pomegranate. The coat of arms of Chesterfield (Derbyshire) is akin thereto, in its including a pomegranate tree.
Gloucester is also twinned with a settlement in the German State of Rheinland-Pfalz. Lincoln's "twin" is Neustadt an der Weinstrasse; Gloucester's is Trier.
