Noticed a 5 car 158 out of Leeds today, will this be changed, unit locked out or can S and C take 5 coaches?

According to this post, most platforms can take 4 but not 5 coaches. Think exceptions would be Appleby and Settle being longer, but there may be others, I've not taken detailed enough notice.

Future of the Settle to Carlisle, Bentham and Ribble Valley lines

I would still be utterly astonished if these "units" (being basically single ended 4-TC type things) don't end up at Chiltern.

No 5-cars on RTT, though a unit might have detached at Skipton.

There was a 5-car a year or two back when staycations were more popular - don't remember the detail though, sorry.

Sorry , I should have said it was 5 cars on RTT when I looked early doors this morning, as soon as I posted it changed to 4, thought it was a unit hitching a lift .

3 carriages: Long Preston P1

4 carriages: Armathwaite, Lazonby, Langwathby, Kirkby Stephen, Dent, Ribblehead, Horton, Long Preston P2, Hellifield, Gargrave

5 carriages: Garsdale, Settle

7 carriages: Appleby (I believe, happy to be corrected; it may be longer)
