Can anyone supply timings for this Saturday's 125 Special over the S&C? Just the S&C part would be great. Thanks!

I'd imagine the driver would have been conducted by one who signs the route.

Some great shots of the activity on the S&C today - I did wonder why so many were braving the elements on some of the more isolated sections when I travelled along the line earlier today!

I'm not sure an XC or EC driver would be any more likely to sign the route than an EMT one, I think, passenger TOC wise, only Northern and Virgin sign the route.

I'd be fairly surprised if XC or EC driver knew the S&C I can't recall either TOC using it as a diversionary route. As above it will probably have been a route conductor job, I imagine either by an NT driver or a FOC driver.

Bearing in mind it started at St Pancras i would presume it was an EMT one

The power cars were 43054 and 43073, so it was definitely an EMT set. Unless East Coast have a second East Midlands Trains HST set on loan (I think they did for a while late last year, I don't watch closely enough to keep track), then EC presently only have a rake of mark 3s in EMT livery but with East Coast branding.

East Coast still have a set in EMT colours inside and out, although there is East Coast decals on the outside, as of a couple of months ago, can't remember what power cars were on the set though

The HSTs over the last decade have been in and out of storage like yoyo's though

The HST specials operated by UK Railtours use EMT HSTs & so far have all started from St Pancras & MML stations. The one I did last year (to Lincoln) had EMT staff on board.
