. . .Does anyone know what, or when these two lines are likely to be resignalled?
. . .I'm aware that piecemeal replacement of semaphores for colour–lights has gone on from time to time together with replacement colour–light I.B.S. allowing some of the more remote boxes to go, but from the end of the Carlisle PSB control area at Howe and Co.'s siding the S & C is still A.B.!
. . Carnforth – Settle Junction has been a very long "block section" since Wennington S.B. was abolished - is it cheaper to run the line that way rather than signal it?
. . .A book I once read in Morecambe Library said that a replacement signalling strategy for the S & C could be "widely–spaced three aspects" supervised from Carlisle or Leeds, or even "two–aspect continuous TCB" but that seems to have died a death now!
