Don't know - last used the route around 1988 (to my brother's farm in Martin Mill) IIRC services left Charing Cross on the hour - taking an hour to reach Ashford.

Had a gander at the summer 1986 BR timetable and there was indeed an hourly fast service, as an example:

Charing Cross	1355
Waterloo East	1358
Ashford (Kent)	1454
Folkestone Ctl	1510
Dover Priory	1521

... then all shacks to Ramsgate, with some reversing at Minster.

Ah cheers. We must have just missed it on the occasions we were going to London.

In truth, we tended to go to Tonbridge more often in the 80's to visit family.
