I was in London at the weekend and very surprised to see a number of Routemasters out and about operating something called service T15. It ran from Charing Cross to the Tower and seems to be operated by Londoner Buses.

Not being a busist I don't know if this is new but it was good fun to ride on an old bus and it was full with tourists. it was a cash/card only operation and did not take Oyster.

Have I just missed this or is it a new service?

TfL used to operate to heritage Routemaster routes - short workings of routes 9 and 15 - after normal Routemaster operation ceased in 2005.
The 9 Heritage ceased not long after, but the 15 Heritage continued until COVID.
Since then Londoner Buses took over

The 9H lasted until 2014. It was a really fast way of getting into London from High Street Kensington, as I suspect many people along the way didn't realise it was a regular TfL route!

When I tried to get on it, it never showed up and so I ended up getting the normal 15 and never saw any of the 3 buses operating, that should have been out on the road. And having spoken to others too, their experiences were that the timetable was more of a formality for TFLs London Service Permit, rather than what the buses would actually operate to.

I also note that the details on the service don't exist on the main Londoner Buses website bar a few mentions in the FAQs. I'm not sure how they make money or attract passengers when there is now no information anywhere about the service bar links to old timetables/leaflets.

Londoner Buses' first Routemaster venture started in October 2022 with route 'A', which ran between Waterloo Station and Piccadilly Circus via Westminster Bridge, Parliament Square, Whitehall and Trafalgar Square (and passing sights such as the Palace of Westminster, Cenotaph, Downing Street and Horse Guards Parade along the way). I had a few rides on the A and I was often the only person on board, occasionally one or two others. The A was dropped and the T15 later started.

I've only sampled their T15 once and that was in its earlier days, but even then loadings were very impressive and included many who just happened to stumble upon it, or who were waiting for a parallel service and were happy to buy a ticket rather than use their Oyster/Contactless for the experience.

Is the T15 still running?

I can find links to leaflets for it as mentioned earlier in this thread, but the page on the Londoner Buses website can't be found...

Their facebook page has posts from the 1/2/3 March 2026 just five weeks ago showing the T15 still running. On their website the FAQ page still mentions the T15 service. I can not find any post mentioning it being withdrawn. So i assume that it is still running but it is rather odd that the page on their website dissapeared.

I can confirm that it is still running but, as ever, their publicity is poor and I am not sure how it does actually keep going. Saw an RM on it yesterday.
