I can't belive I missed them at staines :@!!! Im so annoyed , still I will see my first 6M44 4Y19 and 4O32 tomorrow at stains 3 hours of it!

I also said to Trower that it was a kin great shot and it should go in to a mag but he failed to listen... I think Trower is in his Kevin & Perry stage that night. Still I like it.
Tis better than my efforts to a degree (wont on site now till weekend).

Its not that good, i cant be bothered to send it into a magazine, ive never succeeded having sent in like 15 odd shots none of them have made it in so i just cant be bothered anymore!

Strange really as the shot I had of 2 class 47's in near enough the same position last year made it into Railway Herald?

So I dint see why it should not have.

Its not easy getting photos into mags if you are unknown, I have given up with them. I have sent loads in to various magazines. So I will no longer waste my time time putting them on to disc and posting them in as its costing me to much money and for what just to have a "well known" take the pic of the same train somewhere else in far crappier conditions to what you have.The only sucess I have had is with Railway Herald

Tony, granted your 47 shot and Mr Trowers 37 shot are nice. Yes it would be likely to get into The Railway Herald as you dont get paid for it. But proper magazines (ones on paper) you generally get payed for the shots so a higher quality of photograph is generally needed. I wouldnt know of the specs of stephens camera, so couldnt comment.

Having a Sony DSC R1 @ 10.3 megapixels is a decent camera I am not sure what Stephen has but I am aware the bigger the resolution the better the image would appear in print. I dont think that the statment you made about the Railway Herald is correct. I have sent photographs into them plenty of times and so far only have had 2 images printed, but at least they got printed.

Below is a question from Railway Heralds FAQ on the web site
Do you pay for pictures published in The Railway Herald?
Currently we do not. However, in the comming weeks, Railway Herald will start to accept advertisements in to the magazine, around which point we will start paying photographers for the images used. To do this we will need a full name and address to accompany each photograph.

HEH to be honest I have only just read the FAQ, from my point of view I am not worried if pics are paid for or not. IF I think the pic is ggod enough then I will send it in, at the end of the day some you win some you dont.

The Railway Herald is hardly a proper mag and they are in more need of photos as it comes out weekly and they don't have to worry about paying you. Getting a photo in a 'real mag' it has to be a outstanding photo or a very rare working to really have any chance.
