Is there a good site/contact re seling Rail memorabilia that I could contact for info please?
My father in law is looking to sell some items and wanted to know if it is worth putting them up for sale or not.

Good idea, but if GCR are not local to you just type 'railwayana auctions' into Google. There are a quite a few up and down the country.

The star and scroll symbols were attached to Trainload Freight, Loadhaul and EWS locos working from Immingham depot (IM). Over 30 depots had such symbols. The first ones were produced for the launch of the Railfreight business on 15 October 1987. Google Railfreight symbols for a full list.

Hi Foxxyboy,

I suggest that you contact one or more railwayana auctions. There may be one in your area. Most will give no obligation valuations and could help should you wish to sell.

The value will depend on condition, how rare the item is and if a sufficient number of people find it desirable to collect. I must say that I have never seen one at auction or in a catalogue, - but please don't read too much into that.
Sorry I can't help with the other items apart from saying that the Peak District National Park emblem may have been taken from one of their stone boundary markers. Best of luck with your enquires.
