Earlier this year, several of the Corrie cast were in First on my London-bound Virgin train from Stockport. The crew kept asking them for autographs for their families, which didn't seem to please the actresses! A few weeks ago, I had Sir Trevor McDonald sit in coach K of my London-bound Virgin Train. Jut last week, a member of the Royal Family was also in my First Class coach on the FGW service from Paddington.

Has anyone else seen any famous faces on the railways recently? Were they travelling in style in First or slumming it in cattle class?

Saw Pop Will Eat Itself one night when travelling into Birmingham for a gig. They were returning from London after doing an interview for one of the music papers.

Having said that...didnt the Artic Monkeys once do a gig and interview for NME on the Great Central?

Not to sound sad but Rebecca Michael played Janine Butcher when she was a kid and left Eastenders in 1993, Charlie Brooks has played Janine since 1999.

Eve Myles from Torchwood getting off a train from London at Cardiff, the afternoon after she had been on Something for the Weekend. Hardly famous, I only knew her as she'd been on TV that morning, but she was swanking around thinking she was all that, talking in a loud luvvie voice. I gave her a disdainful look as she brushed past me, she even had some lackies to carry her bags.

PS Only knew her name by Googling.

My mum saw Kristin Scott Thomas on the Eurostar (actually, in a lift at the station - not sure whether it was Paris or London) a couple of weeks ago.

A number of years ago (when he was still on TV every morning), I saw Robert Kiloy-Silk on the District/Circle line platforms at Embankment.

1) Vic Reeves walked past me on his way to Coach 'A' for a fag, on a GNER Edinburgh - Kings Cross train,
2) Zia Mahmood (Contract Bridge Champion) got onto my coach on a GNER KX - Edinburgh train for the Edinburgh Festival,
3) Stood alongside Doug MacAvoy (General Secretary of one of the Teacher's Unions) at Kings Cross - we were both waiting for the 1330 KX - Edinburgh GNER train
4) Travelled with Arthur Mullard (London Actor) on a District Line train (does that count?)

I once saw Frank Carson in the Virgin 1st class lounge at Euston. He was absolutely, shall we say, 'tired and emotional'.

I forget the guys name, but in the mid 90s I travelled from Birmingham New Street to Wolverhampton, sat next to a guy who it turned out was on his way to sign for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Didnt travel with them, but Ive seen Paul Hiney and Anthony Worrall-Thompson at Paddington.

I was on a TGV from Paris to Lyon several years ago. I was in the vestibule and Jane Birkin was in the adjacent coach. She is the lady who sang "Je t'aime" with Serge Gainsbourg. You know, the one where they are having it off. Anyway, being french, TGV's have high-tech locks on the loo doors and Jane couldn't make it work, so I jumped up and showed her what to do. My five seconds of fame is being locked in a TGV loo with the lady who sang Je t'aime.....

One of half of the pop (or should that be comedy) act "The Cheeky Girls" on the train from London - Ashford. A bunch of drunk idiots coming back from a football/rugby match gave her a bit of grief, mainly for pictures, but she seemed happy enough to pose.

"Last of the Summer Wine" Actress Dora Bryan on a train from Gatwick many years ago.

Kids TV Presenter Kirsten O'Brien on a train from Sandling - London, again many years ago.

I've seen Deborah Meaden from Dragons Den on a EMT service, travelling from Bedford to London. Think that was in September :)

Always suspected she was poor, she never invests in anyone! Getting a train rather than a chauffeur driven Merc proves it to me! :D
