Great find though, is that something that's a relic of days gone by or is it still used today?

Apparently it was used until fairly recently to turn round snowploughs. They've got bi directional snow ploughs now so it is no longer needed. Useful as a trivia question. Highest underground turntable in Europe maybe? Maybe the highest turntable even?

Perhaps this is the home of Norway's strategic steam reserve? Presumably they're all oil-fired though!

Thanks for sharing! Of course, (formerly) secret military installations in railway tunnels abroad do exist - the Swiss for example built a way to supply their St Gotthard fortress from the railway tunnel when they built that.

HinduCowgirl's film's are always good. Mind you, she'd be shot for all that filming in this country.
Last winter I watched a bizarre scene at Finse station on the railcam. 3 guys digging away at a pile of snow (too far away to see why). The Chewbacca walked across the view, and wlked back to join 2 Imperial Star Troopers! They all had their pictures taken in front of the pile of snow. Well strange, I thought. About an hour later I had another look, the light had changed and I could see that the pile of snow was a sculpture saying 'Welcome to Hoth'.
