Hello there,
Tomorrow I am traveling from Blackpool North to Southampton Central. The journey involves getting the 17:56 northern train from Blackpool north to Manchester Piccadilly, due to arrive at 19:15. There is then a 10 min connection time, and then im boarding the 19:25 to Southampton central. I was thinking of bidding on a seatfrog upgrade for the XC train, but I'm really unsure whether I will make the connection at manchester. I booked through XC, and this is the itinerary they have given me. I'm just wondering if I win the bid on the seatfrog upgrade, if it can be refunded if a delay on the northern train causes me to miss the connection at Manchester.
The other thing that was slightly concerning me, was that on my ticket route information, it says "NOT VIA LONDON". The 19:25 is the last train that would allow me to get to Southampton without traveling through London, if there was a delay getting into Manchester, I'm assuming that my ticket will be validated to go through London. If it helps at all, I have bought an off-peak return, and I have attached a screenshot of the ticket (with the barcode removed).
Any help with this would be massively appreciated, as I've only just realized how tight the connection at Manchester is going to be if the train from Blackpool is delayed by even a few mins. Thank you
