Seatfrog upgrade on split ticket

Hello all, very quick one. If I’m travelling from Birmingham to Bristol on a split standard class ticket (both walk-up fares, no Advances), can I upgrade to first using Seatfrog with a single upgrade for the entire journey? Or, do I need essentially two upgrades - one of each portion of the split standard tickets?

I can confirm that this also works fine in practice. I've never had a guard or anyone else even give a second glance to showing a through Seatfrog upgrade on split tickets so nothing to worry about :)

Well I needn’t have bothered anyway - at no point during the journey did anyone ask to see any ticket, first upgrade or otherwise!

Barriers at both ends, but as far as the upgrade goes, I could have had a nice first class journey on a standard ticket including a free drink and nobody would have been any the wiser.

Yes; you may use two or more tickets for one journey and it's fine for an upgrade to apply for the whole journey, or for any particular segment of your journey.

Don't forget to dispute the £3 drip pricing fee, which is unlawful; if you are a regular of Seatfrog, I suggest creating a log of all such unlawful charges and keeping the receipts as evidence of wrondoing by the company, for a potential future claim.

It's ostensibly a "platform fee", however it is charged per ticket, and only if using the Seatfrog "platform" for an upgrade, not a train swap!

Anyone successfully claimed back the fee please @yorkie - perhaps even just by reaching out to Seatfrog CS? Wondering if there is any precedent for this, or if you're more talking about a hypothetical court claim etc. Thanks
