Seatfrog upgrade for someone else

Hi, I have a relative travelling from Glasgow to Wigan next week on Avanti with an advance ticket. Depending on availability/cost I would like to upgrade them to first class via the Seatfrog auction. However I will get the email rather than them and I don’t hold the ticket, obviously I can forward the email on but is this allowed?

I have done this, and forwarded the QR code to them with no issues.
