Seat Reservations - Changed between booking and e-mail

Morning,
I've booked return tickets from London To Edinburgh for next week and when I booked online using Southeastern's booking engine it told me the seats and the coach in which the seats would be reserved and I looked them up on the internet and found the Azuma seat
plan for each coach and I was happy so I went ahead and booked.

I've just double checked my confirmation e-mail to find that the seats that I had booked for the outward journey on the 1200 from Kings Cross to Edinburgh next Wednesday have changed and now the 3 seats that it's booked aren't even remotely close to each other!
I've been given coach G seats 19, 30 and 59!

I've never known the reserved seats to change between booking and getting the confirmation e-mail before - Is there any way of getting a new seat reservation for this service because it's not ideal to book 1 adult and 2 children on a Family and Friends railcard where the children can't sit next to the adult!!! lol

Thanks

Sounds as if the set allocated to this journey has been changed. I had a similar thing on Thursday where my seat reservation (PBO-DON) was in Coach J - which didn't exist in that day's formation. On that train (terminating at York) they simply abandoned reservations entirely, but I can see that would be undesirable for an Edinburgh journey.

Seats cannot be changed after booking without the buyer choosing to do so. Depending on when the booking was made the seats in coach G may be 'socially distanced' but they may also be all that was available on what is always a very busy train, especially during school holidays.

The OP should contact Southeastern in the first instance, as they sold the tickets.

Maybe something to do with scottish government kicking up a fuss about covid rules in scotland and lner saying they were basically going to apply english guidelines even when in scotland so aisle seats originally allocated may now be being changed to window only seats?

No, nothing at all to do with that, and allocated seats have not been changed by LNER.

Hi I did contact LNER who have said to contact Southeastern as they supplied the tickets.
I'll let you know what they say
