Hi there

Ive just booked tickets from Preston to Edinburgh, leaving 18th March at 6.58 and return sameday at 18.13, however, RSH wouldnt allow me to reserve a seat. Im guessing the outbound journey will be fine, but will it be busy on the return leg?

Thanks

Chris

Saturdays in March tend not to be that busy - I wonder if there was another issue with the reservations for that train, e.g. them not being open for some reason.

Actually, that's really odd as there are Advances available on that train. Perhaps you might do well to either ask VT to check it, or go to a station and ask them to reserve you a seat.

It was strange, I mean Northern dont normally offer it but Ive never known it with TPE or Virgin.

I suppose coming home its the start of the trains journey anyway so should be ok

There is an international rugby match on in Edinburgh that day. Trains from all over will be choc - a - block.

That said I'm not sure how many rugger buggers will be coming up from Englandshire but you never know. There may be Borderers from Carlisle & Lockerbie though......
