Seat reservation for off peak return - Avanti

Due to travel to Birmingham from Euston tomorrow and got an off peak return valid on any Avanti service but booked a specific train that has now been cancelled.

Debating which service to go on instead but would like the peace of mind of having a seat reservation for a specific service.

Is there a way to just get a seat reservation online? I swear I used to be able to do that for any TOC on gwr.com?

Should still be possible on GWR, and I believe TPE, you need an account but you can make a standalone seat reservation for any train - it's under My Bookings or something like that from memory.

Yes, you can do it through the GWR website by signing into your account and then going to My bookings -> Make a seat/bike reservation

Yes you have to do this on the GWR web site . It's not an option using the GWR App ...
