As it is looking more and more likely that TFL will end up eventually controlling rail in the Greater London 'metro' area how are seasons sold? If you for example have a monthly Orpington- Vic will you be forced to buy a more expensive TFL Z1-6 which you don't need? How has it worked on the GA routes which TFL now run? Thanks

I believe point to point seasons are kept however Tfl phase them out by increasing prices to match zonal fares. I believe some got a refund on their season tickets when Tfl lowered some of their fares on the ga route.

Although you can still get season tickets between stations south of New Cross Gate.

Sounds like a right mess!

It is.

When the South London line was taken over, LO removed all the seasons from stations under their control, but stations like South Bermondsey mean that you can still buy suitable alternatives in most cases.

Mindful of the backlash that this caused, TfL were forced to agree to keeping all season tickets when they took over the GA lines, both TfL Rail and the new London Overground routes. The one which came down in price was the Brentwood travelcard because it was moved to zone 9.
