I have a season ticket from Paddington to Burnham, can I use the same ticket to travel from Burnham to Slough? Will the machines let me through or will I have to show it to barrier staff?

Yep, you may use your season ticket for unlimited travel between the two stated stations and also between any intermediate stations along a permitted route. If Slough is in between Paddington and Burnham then that's fine!

A season ticket is valid between the origin and destination stations shown on the ticket and all intermediate stations.

It is unlikely that it will work the barriers at every station in between, but you should have no trouble when you show the ticket to the barrier staff.
