Season ticket routes

I apologise upfront if this seems like a daft question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I'm going to get myself a NBT to VIC season ticket from Tuesday (NOT the one which includes zone 1-6). So my understanding is that I can use the season ticket to also break my journey as long as I am travelling via any reasonable route, so I can get off at WIM or CLJ if I wish.

As the ticket is to London Terminals, and when I look up journeys to WAT (a London Terminal), I am given options to go either via Kingston or via Wimbledon on the journey planner.

Hence my question is would I be able to use this ticket to also travel to Kingston or Richmond?

(Bonus question, just in case I need it in future - does that also mean that I can use it on the Thameslink Loop, as long as I get off at or before City Thameslink? So it would be good for example to get off at Tooting or Herne Hill)?

No question is too daft, however it would be appreciated if in future codes are explained first before using them. Not everyone understands what they mean. I certainly didn't know what NBT was initially.

That is correct.

Kingston is not on a mapped route between Norbiton and London Group according to the Routeing Guide, however you are allowed to go via Kingston to Waterloo if you are using a direct train, which I think is what National Rail Enquiries are showing. It is debatable whether you are permitted to break your journey along a route permitted by virtual of a direct train.

A better example of an itinerary would be to ask the journey planner to produce one for Norbiton - London Victoria via Richmond. NRE will show this as permitted on a £5.90 single ticket between Norbiton and London Terminals. With none of the options direct trains, this should be good enough proof that via Richmond is a permitted route, and with a season ticket, you can break your journey anywhere en route.

I am not sure about the southern half of the Wimbledon loop, but Norbiton - Wimbledon - Tooting - Streatham - Peckham Rye or Herne Hill and then onwards is certainly on a permitted route. The southern half of the loop via Sutton is not shown in the Routeing Guide, nor within 3 miles of the shortest route, so unless you can get the journey planner to show you an itinerary that way, I think you may be out of luck.

On Thameslink core, you can use it as far as City Thameslink, yes.

Thanks so much for the help (even though I made it a bit more difficult). All makes perfect sense (and yes, I meant the portion of the Sutton loop between Wimbledon and City Thameslink).
