Season ticket route validity

Hi all,
Will soon be getting a season ticket from Penarth to Rhoose. However, itd be helpful sometimes to be able to change at Cardiff Central. Would that be valid on the season ticket or do I have to chane at Grangetown?

Tried to figure this out myself but completely lost with all the routeing documentation. Thanks.

Good question. But how does changing at Cardiff Central make a journey from Penarth to Rhoose Cardiff Int'l more 'helpful'? It's a wrong direction movement, after arriving at Grangetown, isn't it, so, wouldn't you need an extra Grangetown to Cardiff Central return ticket (in conjunction with the season ticket) to do what you propose? One for the fares experts on here to deliberate on.

Cardiff has more shops, and I'm also worried that if a train is late it might skip Grangetown, which sucks as Rhoose is 1tph

No doubling back on a simple journey Penarth to Rhoose, so going via Cardiff isn’t permitted, although if your train skips Grangetown when it’s booked to call you’ll be fine reversing at Cardiff.

There is no Easement listed which would allow the double-back as an exception.
