Season ticket question.

I currently hold an annual season ticket to get from Bramley to York and was wondering whether i could use the ticket to travel from say Headingley to Harrogate?

Both are intermediate stations between Leeds and York on a valid route (the harrogate line i would never actually use to commute though due to it taking about twice as long to get from Leeds to york as the quick route)

Yes, season tickets are valid for unlimited travel and break of journey on all permitted routes (which allows starting/finishing your journey at an intermediate station).

As you say, going via Harrogate is a more circuitous route but it's a perfectly valid one and thus you're entitled to use your season to travel between Headingley to Harrogate. Note that your ticket might not necessarily open the barriers at Harrogate, but if so you should just show it to one of the gateline staff.

Yes, this is absolutely fine. You may start and finish short at any station on a permitted route and Headingly and Harrogate are on a permitted route for the season ticket you hold.

Note that the ticket might not work the barriers at intermediate stations, this doesn't mean the ticket isn't valid - just ask to be let through manually.
