Season ticket help

Hi I'm new to the forum.

I live in Epsom and am going to take up a job in canary wharf. I'm thinking of getting an annual ticket between Epsom and Canary Wharf but have a few questions.

1. Will I be able to get an annual ticket from Epsom to Canary Wharf (point to point without travelcard)? It seems a bit wasteful to get an Epsom to Zone 1-6 travelcard which I'd hardly use (the travelcard bit).

2. My other half lives in East India so it'll justify for me to get a zone 1-2 travelcard as I occasionally go there. Will I be able to get an annual Zone 1-2 travelcard and then an annual Epsom to Zone 3-6 travelcard? Or do I have to overlap the zone (i.e. Epsom to Zone 2-6 instead?)

3. Will these all be one single ticket? I'll prefer to have it on my oystercard as it's easier though Epsom is not in the oystercard zone...

4. I understand if I do move I'll get a refund on my season ticket - just wondering how long that process will take and if I'll be able to ask for a refund in advance if I know when I'll stop needing the annual ticket?

The reason for asking this question is I'm trying to see if I can get a cheaper (split) alternatives to cover my journey than just getting an Epsom to Zone 1-6 travelcard.

2. 1-2 and 3-6 is a valid combination, despite what a minority of RPIs think.
3. If you buy a combination of tickets they'll be separate tickets, and as Epsom is not in the oyster zone the ticket valid to Epsom won't be able to be on Oyster.

1. There are no point to point season tickets to Canary Wharf

2. You can combine the tickets in this way, however an [Epsom - Zones 3-6 ] and a [Zones 1-2] annual season ticket will be more expensive than the Epsom - Zones 1-6 ticket anyway. Note that if you are intending to travel on the quickest route, changing at Waterloo, then you will need zones 1 and 2 regardless of whether you go to East India, as the zones you hold must cover every zone you travel through.

3. You can't get a ticket to Epsom on an Oyster card, however I think you can get such an Epsom - Zones 1-6 on a Southern Railway 'the key' smartcard.

4. Refunds are not calculated pro-rata, but based on what it would have cost you to buy other season tickets to have an equivalent number of days validity, so a changeover to a very cheap season can be cheaper, as they are done pro-rata (even if you don't use the new season). It usually takes a few days to process.

For paper tickets, you submit the form, ideally at a station run by the same company you purchased the ticket from, then come back a few days later to process the refund/changeover. You can continue to use the ticket whilst the calculations are carried out at the ticket office. Note that the policy tickets issued on 'the key' may be different.

You cannot buy a Travelcard from Epsom to Zones 1-2 only on one ticket. All outboundary Travelcard seasons must include at least two consecutive zones and must include Zone 6, so if you need Zone 1, you must pay for all zones.
