Hello all,

A friend needs to commute between Haywards Heath and Slough daily for a while (Seven Day or Monthly seasons would be of interest, nothing longer than that). No Season Ticket fares appear to be available between the two; I imagine it's something to do with having to cross London and both stations being outside the zones (?), or too far outside the zones in the case of Haywards Heath (?), or something... :D

Anyway, any suggestions for this journey would be welcome: splitting, combinations of tickets etc. I believe he would travel exclusively on Southern to London Victoria, then across to Paddington.

Cheers!

~~

Edit: actually, for my own interest, are there any general criteria around length and/or complexity of journeys for which Season Tickets are available, or is the availability or otherwise of Season Ticket fares on particular flows determined ad hoc? Do different TOCs have different criteria? Are rules/criteria introduced in BR days still applicable? - Any thoughts/info/comments welcome.

Sounds like a custom travelcard, which would be priced as Haywards Heath to London Zones 1-6 plus Slough to London Zones 1-6 minus a 1-6 in-boundary travelcard. Assuming you can find a ticket clerk who knows how to issue one

Thanks. He managed it at the second attempt (first time: forgot his photocard!), although two clerks had to get involved to work out the fare and how to issue it.
