Seaford to Birmingham

Hi! I'm going to a conference at vox centre in Birmingham on Friday the 19th to Saturday the 20th May. I'm in seaford East Sussex. I need to be there by midday and the conf ends at 6 on the 20th.
What's the best way to get there? Cheapest possible please!!

You probably aren't going to get much better than the £50.50 Super Off Peak Return from Seaford to Birmingham International via High Wycombe, valid on any train leaving Marylebone after 09:00, so a potential itinerary would be


06:54 Seaford - London Victoria 08:34
Victoria Line to Oxford Circus
Bakerloo Line to Marylebone
09:40 London Marylebone - Banbury 10:42 (Service continues to Birmingham Moor Street)
10:57 Banbury - Birmingham International 11:37 (Service continues to Manchester Piccadilly)

And return would be
18:14 Birmingham International - Leamington Spa 18:37 (Service continues to Bournemouth)
18:46 Leamington Spa - London Maryleboone 20:10
Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus
Victoria Line to Victoria
21:17 London VIctoria - Lewes 22:26 (Service continues to Eastbourne)
22:30 Lewes - Seaford 22:47

The London to Birmingham International portion can be done on Advance tickets for £6 each way.

There are £5 advances available for London to Seaford on the Saturday night.

For the early morning London to Seaford leg you'd need a £29 anytime day single

So £46 for the round trip, plus you'd need to factor in the cost of the tube from Victoria to Euston.

However gnolife's suggested £50.50 is much more flexible and doesn't limit you to specific trains.

You might like to know that this ticket is valid on ANY train from Seaford to London (and back) and on trains leaving Marylebone after 0830. So if you make it across London promptly you can catch the 0910 through to Banbury (or Leamington Spa, which I'd opt for), though you won't get to International any earlier.

You might also like to know that you don't need to buy this ticket in advance.
