Scrap price Pacific loco

Hi,
When LNER A3s were being scrapped around 1964, how much was paid as scrap for a working loco?

In 1963 Alan Pegler paid £3,000 for 4472 and obviously this was above the scrap value.
It must be considered that in 1963 £3,000 was a lot of money.

When I started work in 1966 my annual salary was £400 per annum or £8 per week...!
