Today I while onboard a VTEC service travelling north of Edinburgh the on board trolley host was offering multi buy promotions on alcohol which are of course now illegal a in Scotland. Does VTEC have an exemption from Scottish licensing laws because they are registered in England operating a train which originated in England? If so does this also apply to minimum unit pricing and restricted selling times on Sundays? Just curious if this is perhaps a slight loop hole in the regulations. Of course this may just be a mistake on the part of the trolley host hence no mention of the exact service.
