With effect from 20 October 2025, any ticket issued by Scottish Citylink for scheduled services within Scotland shall be valid for travel on the calendar day stated on the ticket (“Date of Travel”).
A ticket grants the holder the right to travel on any Citylink service operating on the same route and in the same direction on the Date of Travel, subject always to seat availability.
Tickets shall not be restricted to the specific departure time selected at the time of purchase. This flexibility permits passengers to undertake their journey at any convenient time on the Date of Travel without the need for amendment, provided they travel on the same route and in the same direction.
Where a passenger books a ticket for a specific departure time, that passenger shall be entitled to a seat on the service corresponding to that booking, provided they present themselves for boarding at the designated departure point in accordance with the published check-in or boarding requirements.
Passengers who choose to travel on an alternative service operating on the same Date of Travel may do so under this valid-for-day-of-travel policy; however, a seat on that alternative service is not guaranteed, and travel shall be subject to seat availability at the time of boarding. Citylink shall not be liable in the event that a service is full and the passenger is unable to board.
Ticket validity applies strictly to the Date of Travel, the same route, and the same direction as originally booked. Tickets are not valid for travel on alternative dates, routes, or in the opposite direction.
All other provisions of these Terms and Conditions, including (without limitation) those relating to refunds, cancellations, amendments, and conditions of carriage, remain in full force and effect.
Scottish Citylink reserves the right to withdraw, vary, or suspend the valid-for-day-of-travel policy at any time without prior notice where operational, legal, or safety requirements make this necessary.
Seat Reservations and Capacity Limits
Seat availability on all Citylink services is subject to the maximum licensed passenger capacity of the coach. Once the available seats on a service have been allocated, no further passengers may be carried.
Passengers holding a ticket for a specific departure time shall have a seat reservation for that service only. Failure to present for boarding in accordance with published check-in or boarding times may result in the forfeiture of that seat, and Citylink shall not be required to provide alternative transport.
Passengers travelling under the valid-for-day-of-travel policy on a service other than the one originally booked acknowledge that they do so on a space-available basis. A seat on an alternative service cannot be guaranteed and shall be allocated only where capacity permits.
Citylink shall not be liable for any loss, delay, inconvenience, or consequential cost arising where a passenger is unable to board an alternative service due to capacity limits being reached.
Nothing in these Terms shall operate to exclude or restrict any statutory rights afforded to passengers under applicable transport or consumer protection legislation.
