Hi,

I applied for a position with First ScotRail on Sunday afternoon and immediately got an email saying i was unsuccessful. I left it at that although i felt a bit gutted.....

Anyway i recieved another email this morning thanking me for taking the time to apply etc and also listing the application proccess. Now the section on their wesbite says 'unsuccessful - shortlisiting' but i thought it strange i would recieve an email 2 days later explaining the application stages.

I've sent an email asking for some clarification but has anyone experienced this before or can offer any advice?

Thanks

The applications use a word recognition programme, ie you need to include in your application a certain amount of key words which will more than likely be in the job description somewhere, most applications are rejected within 15 seconds of hitting the send button and don't even get read, it's standard practice for a lot of big firms
