Fares just increased Scotrail website not updated.

Their website has now been updated. It now says on intercity services (which I presume means Edinburgh/Glasgow-Aberdeen/Inverness) you can now upgrade for £10 at weekends and £15 weekdays, and on Edinburgh-Glasgow services it's £5 at weekends and £6 on weekdays.

I didn't know ScotRail also offered upgrades on weekdays. Is this new, or have they been doing it for a while? Presumably on weekdays they are only available on off-peak trains.

I have twice heard guards offer upgrades on 170s over the PA for £5.10. Both occasions were in 2016, one on a Monday the other a Saturday.

The weekday update option is new.

It will surely stop me buying First Anytime Returns (Aberdeen to Glasgow).

I can now buy either an Anytime Return or Off-Peak Return (as applicable for time of travel), plus upgrades each way, for less than a First Anytime Return.
