Scotrail units at Preston Station?

First post - So hope this is the correct forum. Over the last few weeks, I keep seeing an empty Scotrail train at Preston. Any ideas as to why it has been visiting?

Yes, I spoke with a ScotRail driver (conducted) on ‘one of my old units’ looped in a platform at Lancaster recently.

The 320s and 334s have been visiting Wolverton works recently, with 334018 working the 5Q70 09:35 Yoker depot to Wolverton works yesterday.

Quite a few different ones 156, 158, 320, 334.
