I got offered Motherwell at the end of November, pending a medical.
Has anyone got the roster for there? I’ve tried searching the forum and can’t find it. Thanks

Folk who have recently went through the 2nd assessments, are there any particular resources you recommend to prepare and practice for the computerised assessments, situational judgement, and in particular MMI? Would it be ok to use scenarios used as part of the DMI within the MMI as relevant?

Thanks in advance, and congrats to those who have made it this far or have got a start date :D

The computer based tests are pretty straight forward. I was slightly worried about the test that flashes up a traffic scene and you need to choose if there was cars, pedestrians, traffic lights, bikes etc. I created a power point of screenshots, set it to flash up for 1 second at a time to test myself......but to be honest, that was total overkill! Most of the tests are testing your existing. skills - so I wouldn't necessarily worry about getting developing new skills for them. You can 100% use the same examples in the MMI than you did at the DMI. MMI Interviewer is very good at drawing the information they are looking for through follow up questions. Situational judgement is allegedly not marked. All in all the second assessment centre is fine, a lot less intense than the first (and the DMI, if you are like me and hate interviews!)

Hi all...I've been a lurker on here for the past year/year and a half but haven't posted.

I applied March 2024 and had my first paper test July 2024. Completed my MMI December 2025.

Recently done my medical and today received my contract for a start date and induction on 10th Sept.

I done my first paper tests with a guy i know who flew through the process compared to me and is now signed off as a driver and I'm only just starting. Thought this day would never come but fortunately I've been in a secure job throughout so as much as I was desperate for the process to move I wasn't in a huge rush.

The point of this post is to try and show that it will come. Keep the head up and its slow and long but hopefully there is movement coming.

Good luck

P.s. For info I am for Waverley depot.

Has anyone not had the email to book the first assessment? I am still waiting off the back of hearing I passed the online tests and the email saying we will be in touch when we have arranged dates/times for the assessment centre?

You can wait a while. Some of us (myself included) waited 17 months from first applying and 16 months from final online test to get to the 1st assessment stage. Thing to remember with this is no news, is good news! And if you’ve passed the previous assessment you will move on at some point

They email saying we will contact you week commencing xxx and what number they will call on.

Then they phone and make arrangements and follow it up by email.

I was on holiday the week they were going to phone but they kept in touch and made other arrangements so as much as communication has been poor throughout process from then on I've got to say its been pretty good

Hi,
I hope you don’t mind me asking but what stage did you get to in your last application?

Hello everyone

I recently passed first and second assessment centre and both interviews, does anyone from Edinburgh Waverley know the time scales for medical/start date after this? I applied this year, but seen some things on this people from 2024 are still waiting.

TIA :D

When did you apply? Was it for the talent bank? If so there is no guarantee of you getting a position unfortunately. The talent bank application stated that if your application will be only be held for a maximum of 2 years for future opportunities. Those that have been waiting since 2024 applied for an actual position not the training bank (although most have since been placed in one).

Sorry if this sounds negative, just don’t want you getting your hopes up for something that might never happen

Our Driver Recruitment Team will be in touch soon to guide you through the next steps of the process.

Can anyone tell me what happens now ? I know this is a long process so dont expect anything to happen soon . But would be good to get an idea of what happens next .

If you have passed the initial online test then the next stage is the assessment testing which there is 2 separate days for this. I waited over a year (could be sooner for you) to get invited for assessment so sit tight.

After getting the email about Passing the online assessment (17th May) to the inital one for Stage 1 assement centre was on the 2nd of June. Then after that for me nothing, sent a email to the recruiment team, that had previously done 1st stage of the paper tests to the standards needed (29th June). Invite to choose a DMI interview date on the 16th July and got my date booked for early August. (All for Edinburgh)

Can I ask. Did you apply this year and just sit the online tests 2 weeks ago? People I know that have applied the same time as me and got to the online tests have had emails saying they were unsuccessful. I haven’t heard anything yet.
