Just a wee message of hope if you're still in the recruitment process. I first applied in Dec 2018, had assessments & a DMI interview early 2019, but along came the Covid pandemic and my application stalled and I heard nothing more. I reapplied in early 2024, re-did all my assessments and interviews during 2024/5, have just completed my medical and have finally been offered a place on a course beginning September this year. It's a long and sometimes frustrating process but be patient, stick it out, and hopefully you'll end up in the driving seat. Thank you to everyone who has posted advice and information in this forum - I've found it all really helpful.

Passed all assessments and interviews and haven’t heard anything since passing my MMI. Just saw you done a speculative application, did you attend the women’s event in October?

October as well from the speculative application and passed the final assessment/MMI at the beginning of May.

I applied in 2024, and the whole process took about two years. I passed everything in December and was told that I’m now in a talent pool, waiting for a medical and a start date.

First assessment was April then a couple weeks later my DMI, then last assessment and MMI the start of May.So looks as though we are in the same boat awaiting the medical then

Yeah, applied in March/April 2024. Done my the DMI in December. Waiting for a medical etc. date.

Hello! I found it quite tough, but I got an e-mail today stating that I passed! Our assessor was lovely - really broke the ice for us and made it less daunting.
Have you got an assessment date?

Not the person directed, but still waiting a date and believe a few others are to.

I’m really unsure. I’m hopeful but it’s hard not to be pessimistic. I’d maybe feel slightly more positive if they ever replied to emails.

I have a bit of hope, but honestly I have a feeling they've bitten off more than they chew in regards to hiring extra drives expecting Sunday to become part of the working week.
Getting less confident the longer it goes without hearing anything
Hoping its a good sign that they have people at beginning of the process, surely wouldnt have re advertised talent bank positions if they didnt expect us already in it to get starts?

Has anyone who passed their last assessment in December and now in the talent bank had the 6 month email yet? Sat my DMI on the 4th December and got my passed email on the 17th December but no email as of yet.
Cheers guys I'm of the same slightly pessimistic view although its a very good point that if they had over recruited what they needed then they surely wouldn't still be looking to bring more in,also agree that its the complete lack of communication that plants the seeds of doubt,I dont expect the 6 month email( if we get one) to be anything more than checking we are still interested,i'm in direct contact with 5 other guys who have all been awaiting a medical since last December and not one has heard anything
Has anyone from the recent talent bank applications received dates for the first part of the assessment yet? I've not practiced at all as life is so busy so it's really difficult to get the time and headspace so I'm somewhat hoping it's a wee while away.
Nothing so far.
For the benefit of all Ayr applicants 2 courses have already been arranged for this year so I can’t see any reason to think that recruitment is slowing down. Last year I think they had 3 courses for Ayr with the final one being in November so whilst I can’t say for sure, I would be expecting a few of you who passed at the tail end of last year to hear something in the next 8-10 weeks. For the rest it will be in to 2027. Good luck to everybody waiting, your persistence will pay off!
