Can anyone who has done the online induction course confirm if it's just a matter of tuning in on the day or does it involve any form of exercises, note taking etc ???

Trying to work out if I'll need to borrow a laptop and webcam or if I'll be able to just use my phone.

Thanks
I would get a laptop as there is quite a lot of preboarding e-learning to do along with the induction, which takes a good few hours to go through.

Hello everyone me again haha!

I’ve asked this a few times but wondering if anyone else has got a start date for November 24th at AC, and induction days 20th/21st.

My depot will be Glasgow central.

Passed my DMI a few weeks back for the yoker depot. Waiting for a medical to be booked in but I emailed the recruitment team and they said that they can’t give a timescale for when the medicals will be. Here’s hoping for one soon.

Been in the same situation for Glasgow Central since June. Spoke to them recently and was advised that it’ll be April 2026 at the earliest. Not sure if Yoker is the same.

Anyone know why they changed the format for the computer and mmi? Used to do the lot in the one day, but now the mmi is separate from the computer tests. Just curious

Makes it a shorter less stressful day for candidates and the assessor staff I guess.

Yeah fair. I’m a depot driver for another company at the moment and when I passed out it was a full day of the written tests, computer tests and mmi. That was ten years ago so changed days now haha

The first time I attempted the process for ScotRail it was all done in one long day like you say and I definitely felt tired and wasn't performing at my best by the time the MMI started. Second time they had split the paper stage and the computer/MMI stage to two days. For sure its good news for everyone applying now they've split it up even more.

Off topic but curious to know which other company in Scotland employs depot drivers if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Second that about the full day , it was exhausting and I feel Interviewer and interviewee are both tired
I would have much preferred to do the MMI on a seperate day

Craigentinny definitely does (ex LNER, now Hitachi), I'd imagine Polmadie does too (Alstom I think?)

Hey mate I passed mine in July for Yoker and have been told enrolments won’t be until April 2926 at earliest. Have they said you’ll be sooner?

Hi guys, please delete or redirect me if this isn't the appropriate thread, but I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the 2025/26 trainee driver application dates? I feel like I have pestered everyone at this point and I am no closer to finding out. Last recruitment drive was March 2024, so surely they must be opening soon? Thanks

Hi mate,

best bet might be to email recruitment and ask they will have a better idea on courses, numbers etc

Was rumours going about saying November but I’m not 100% if that’s true or not.

Definitely worth keeping an eye out just incase.
