Yes had an email a few days ago saying I met the standard then had a call to arrange my DMI in Aberdeen on Friday.
Excellent news, congratulations!
What time is your interview? I assume it's with Raymond Hendry and 1 other?

1pm was only slot available so had to take it unless I wanted to look later in August (which I didn't!). And yes its With Raymond and one other as far as I know. Fingers crossed just spending all my spare time trying to find out as much as I can! Sifting through what is massively out of date and what is up to date is the biggest issue!

Anyone got given a start date for November? I know it’s still 4 months away but just curious to know if anyone else will be on a November course also.

Hey all,
New member here , first of all congrats to everyone that has turned there dreams into reality and for those that have fell short, chin up and all the best for next time round ! Having skimmed through this thread and countless Facebook pages my aspirations to become a driver myself have some what diminished lol. Hearing people’s stories of falling short of the finish line has really made me question my decision to Pursue this as a career. However I’m going to try. Think I’d regret not trying at all. Having said that, if anyone knows or can tell me how they found trainee driver jobs for Scotrail that would be much appreciated. I’ve signed up to there job search but I’m not sure how big the pool is of people already passed tests and waiting.

If anyone can give me advice on where to look/ start and there experience in finding trainee roles that would be much appreciated.

Hope this is allowed
Thanks

I got an email saying that they are sending out a link so we can self-book on the an assessment date. If successful I'll move into next stage. This will be for positions in 26/27

I finally got word back from my DMI which I attended in January! It took six months to be told I was unsuccessful but I am welcome to reapply as the six month time bar has passed!
I found the first set of tests quite easy and got to 42 out of 43 in the gauges test but the interview felt doomed from the beginning!

Congratulations and good luck to those who passed! maybe next time!!

42 out of 43 on the gauges test? Did they tell you your score?

I got an email saying I would receive an email with a link to book an assessment day in the next 48hrs. In that email I noticed it said I had to take a copy of my driving license with me? Why is this a requirement for a train driver? Is this just for proof of ID and if so I could just take my passport?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

When ScotRail advertises trainee driver positions, this will be available to view on their recruitment website. So check that regularly. It is unlikely roles will be advertised this year as they have a sizeable backlog from previous years' applications, but this may change. Worst case, you can apply next year.

My advice to you.

1. Go for it. Never try, never know.
2 But be mindful about the success rate of applications. Not to destroy your motivation but to build realistic expectations.
3. Railway recruitment takes ages. Two, three years can easily pass from application to start date if you pass everything. And then driver training takes another year, year and a half. So it's a long term career investment.

Good luck!

Yes thanks hoping I get the information I need (and that the internet hasn't lied to me!). Have you got an interview too or are you still waiting to hear?
Well hopefully you manage to make it work for you.
Yeah, I have one at 10.30am.
All the best with it and here's hoping we are through to the next stage.

Hi everyone. Believe it or not, as I’m not sure I do, my start date has been brought forward to Aug 21st….anyone else on this course? Edinburgh depot. Cheers and good luck to everyone going through the process. I have interview tip books and a blank practice Group Burdon book if anyone wants it? Just message me with your address…
Hi mate.

Assume someone has already asked for this? If not, I'd be interested. If it's still available, DM me please and I'll pass my address on.
