That’s interesting. Thanks for putting that up. I’m also a March 2024 applicant for the Motherwell depot. I’ve got my stage two assessments/MMI on Tuesday morning so it’s good to know there’s vacancies coming up. Just need to pass this bit now!!I was March 24 as well. I was originally supposed to be at ayr and completed my mmi in April but there was no vacancies. I asked to change to Motherwell for personal reasons in June and was booked for my medical that week with a start date of 18th September. I know some people in the railway and I believe there are 12 vacancies at Motherwell to fill so would imagine it wouldn’t be too long before there’s another class
Hi mate yeah i got that email on monday still waiting to hear back they have my confirmation, honestly feels like an eternity waiting to hear backI got the below, does this mean I'm getting close to getting to 1st stage testing?

Did you get same email as I've just posted below?
congratulations mate and best of luckCongrats so far!
it’s a long haul that’s for sure.
I applied in march 2024 and start in July 24th 2025.
Nothing goes quickly that’s for sure!
Just ride it out in the background.
But yes I’d imagine if your within 45 mins to the station you’ll be starting the process shortly.
Congratulations. I also just recieved the same news. Any ideas when the medical will take place?I got the email today to say I passed the MMI! I haven't stopped pacing around the house in disbelief. Hoping it's not too long to wait for an email for the medical and provisional start date![]()
Yes that’s correct.Hi all,
Im down for 3 assessments. i take it this classes as stage 1 of the assessment stage and if all going well id be invited back again for further assessments. ? just trying to get my head round it all. thanks.
Thank you for the replyYes that’s correct.
You will sit the first stage of written type tests, if you pass (hear back within a week typically) you attended a DMI interview next.
If you pass this, you then get invited back for stage 2 tests, computer.
If you pass these (find out same day) you continue the day into the MMI last interview stage. All going well, and you pass (again week or so wait) you then get invited back for medical. If you pass that stage you’re sorted.
Just out the process now.

I believe you only had to resit the section you fail.About 6 months ago I failed one of the 3 phase 2 assessments for ScotRail trainee driver. I will be eligible for a 2nd attempt in a few days. Do I have to resit all 3 assessments or just the one I failed?

I have tattoos that would be visable and nothing was said about them.Bit of a weird question guys, am thinking about getting an arm sleeve tattoo done and wondering if anyone knows if Scotrail has any policies in place for tattoos.
Well I've got a good few tattoos mate so I don't think it should be a problem, plus they can't discriminate because you have a tattoo. This they are offensive then that might be a different story.I have tattoos that would be visable and nothing was said about them.
