Hi,

Anyone that is starting their training soon, have you heard anything about references? I haven't been told to submit any apart from when I did the initial application form?
Apparently they don’t ask our current employers etc for our references until we have started with Scotrail. I had emailed to update mine from my initial application.

Curious to know if anyone who failed the MMI had to wait a lengthy period of time to find out? Or were you told fairly quickly/at the same time as those that were successful? I’m on 7 days now and the wait is getting harder…

Does anyone have any information on how to get in touch to arrange a visit to Perth depot? I can't find an address for it other than Perth train station. I have my DMI on Tuesday (found out this evening) and want to be prepared / show interest and pick up useful information.

If you can’t make arrangements just turn up to the depot. That’s exactly what I done and managed to get In, got lots of helpful advice/information from the DTM and also manage to speak with drivers highly recommend going.

Has anyone from Glasgow had a rejection after their DMI? I have been waiting since 20th January without word!? I have emailed 3 times since but with no reply?
I had a DMI last June 2024 , heard nothing till Friday (18/04/25) there saying I was unsuccessful but have been invited back for another DMI this Tuesday!! Only 4 days notice so don’t give up hope

If you hang about the very worn looking staff only door on platform 7 you'll usually find someone with time to help you.

That’s great. Was starting to think I was the only one as everyone else seems to be end of May
Have you heard anything else. Supposed to have the induction next week but no contract, nor any login info, etc

Rather discriminatory is it not?
Not really no, it’s an informative session to raise awareness for women interested in a career in train driving. Would be discriminating if it was applications open to women only.

I just got an email to say my DMI is on Wednesday next week. I managed to pass my last on in 2019 however no job ended up coming of it after a time in the pool. I've got loads of examples/situations and research done and written down to revise with and feel comfortable enough with that aspect. Although if anyone has been to a DMI recently and has any pointers I'd be very grateful. Thank you!

Would anyone be able to tell me if you’re guaranteed to get a medical after passing all the assessment stages? cheers

can anyone confirm this about the disclosure who’s recently applied for 1.

Is it still a paper copy or digital?
I think the full disclosure system is changing.

Yes, you are
Hi Paul. Could I ask how you know this please as I’m in the same situation and have been nervously waiting for a medical date for 2 weeks. Cheers

Also has anyone got their final assessments/MMI coming up? I’ve downloaded the practice tests and still have 2 downloads left that I will pass on for free. DM me for the details…

You will soon discover that nothing moves quickly when it comes to Scotrail recruitment. Two weeks is nothing.

I applied in dec 2022 and didn't actually start until sept 2024.

Incidently, if anyone is after practise test books, I have the general tests and also the situational awareness test books from the How2Become range.

Sadly I discovered this a long time ago! I’m not expecting a date anytime soon but having the knowledge that I will definitely get a medical will help in the meantime. Cheers
