Hi,

Thanks, now I see better what you meant. What you need consider is that the assesments are not a single act; there are two rounds of assessments and two interviews. These are usually arranged over three separate dates, often multiple months between each date. Also, in my case, there was a six months' silence between me submitting the application and the first email from recruitment. So it's a lengthy process even before you get to know whether you passed everything or not. Somebody here suggested trying to go for a different grade within the company first and go for the driving grade as an internal applicant. I think that is an excellent idea if you have doubts about your current employment.

And don't despair about vacancies. ScotRail is in a multi year recruitment drive just now, so even though they have applicants to process from previous years they will need to keep advertising to fulfil the numbers required.

Good luck!

Yeah, just had a look - nothing on their site at all unfortunately at the minute. I did apply for a Signaller post with NetworkRail, passed the online assessments and got to the video stage, however they only gave me 1 day to do it and unfortunately I missed it and they refused to reinstate it. I'm keeping an eye on both sites.

Hopefully they will advertise again soon. Thanks.

First of all, congratulations and well done. Can I ask did you chase up a few times? And did you get a response? I was only a few weeks back and tbh had a bit of a nightmare but wanting clarification so can put it behind me and move on, also get the 6 month countdown started!

I also had my medical on 6th Feb. I contacted Optima Health yesterday and they said they are no issues and sent my results back to Scotrail, waiting on an official email to confirm.

First I’ve heard, technically not even been told I passed lol
Sounds about right. I was told last Thursday I’d hear back within a week. Not sure why I believed that haha

Fingers crossed, waiting’s the worst part.
Good luck to all still waiting.

Anyone booked in for the second stage of assessments yet?
I'm still waiting to hear if I have passed the first interview! For now I am assuming that I will hear at the same time if I have passed!?

Good luck to everyone going through the assessments and interviews. I’m due to start the 2 day scotrail induction at the end of May :). Is anyone else booked on?

My medical was approx 2 weeks after my MMI. I’m booked in for an induction at the end of May so about 3.5 months from the medical date

Also, for those starting on 29th May, is this for a driver position? Just because I didn't know anything about 2 day inductions lol. Never been mentioned to me. A new thing perhaps?

I wonder if it’s an immediate start day after the 2 day induction, or if you then have a week or so prior to starting.
