I don't think you're going to find out that answer, lots of people on this thread, and as mentioned earlier 2 threads have been amalgamated....one March 24 applicants, the other Ongoing applicants. And at the end of the day.....it doesn't matter.....your application will unique to you....your depot etc, we can try to speculate and scrutinise but just take what comes your way ....im grateful for being in the process

Weird coincidence: Last night I had a dream (nightmare lol) where I was having the MMI interview for Scotrail and spectacularly failed it because I couldn’t think of any examples to answer with. Didn’t realise but my application must have been on my mind.
This morning I got a text from Scotrail Recruitment saying to check my emails. They have sent me a date later this month for the assessment center! Only to do the first three paper based tests. I’m really happy to finally be moving through the system again (March 24 applicant). Also a real improvement that they now text you too so you don’t miss the email.

I am the same, although minus the nightmare! I have a date in a couple of weeks time and have not prepared yet, so it’s time to work hard for a couple of weeks on these specific tests and give it my best shot. I am also a March 2024 applicant, and I’m applying for Edinburgh.

Currently in America on holiday and just noticed I've received an email inviting me to an interview with the Operations Delivery Manager the day after I return home!
Any tips on what to expect?
As you can imagine , it's a pretty hectic time when you've got the kids with you so haven't really got time for much study or research.

Personally I would be asking for another date. You can't possibly prepare sufficiently whilst on holiday.

I am trying to learn the different route names and what traction runs on each route from Glasgow Central.
Am I right in thinking that there are 9 different routes that run from Glasgow Central (each route a different colour on the map attached)?

I was told today at my DMI if ive not heard in 3 weeks to get in touch with them. I suppose no news is good news
On Thursday it’ll be 4 weeks and still heard nothing, didn’t want to bother them with an email but I may send one on Thursday if heard nothing by then, thank you! Hoping no news is good news too. Assuming they will be very busy with everything going on the now

I had my DMI on Tuesday this week and got an email this morning to say i have passed!....massive relief as i thought i could have done better but probably just being hard on myself. Any idea how quickly Scotrail progress you onto the Stage 2 computer test and MMI?

I am a March 24 applicant and recently sat Stage 1 psychometrics. I sat them on Tuesday 16th after being emailed on Saturday 6th to advise my application had been shortlisted. I got an email Wednesday 17th advising I had passed all assessments and they would be in touch to advise me of the next steps of the recruitment process. I am now playing the waiting game for my DMI.

I’m still waiting to. I received email on the 31st of may saying I met standard required.

They are needing 160 drivers a year for the next 5+ years according to the lady at my stage 1 psychometrics. I reckon everybody who received the met the standards email will eventually hear at some point, so patience is required unfortunately. There are people still going through the process from 2 years ago I believe. My guess, and it is only a guess so may not be accurate, is that they’re progressing people based on combined scores from SJT & CV’s then moving through the thousands of applicants that way.
If anybody else has more accurate information, I’m sure they will share. GL when you finally get the chance.

I wore a suit regardless of the email. Some did, some didn't. There is zero chance I would attend an interview wearing jeans and a t shirt, but some did. I would rather be overdressed than be the only person looking like they don't care.

I think we live in a different society compared to even 5 years ago. Smart casual is generally seen as acceptable now. It wasn’t 5 years ago.
It’s striking a balance. I think anyone can be overdressed as much as being underdressed.

Everybody has an opinion, but I totally disagree with that.
If I was a manager and somebody came smartly presented in a 3 piece suit, and another wore jeans and a t-shirt, I’d automatically be leaning towards the suit already. The fact they’ve made the effort shows they care and want the job IMO. That said, you still have to answer the questions well and score high enough regardless of what clothes you have on.

Yep, totally agreed.
Given presentation and uniform wearing is part and parcel of the job, then yes, dress accordingly. Nearly everyone at my assessments were all suited and booted. This is a professional job paying a professional salary, so dress accordingly, why wouldn’t you?
